Bios
Ken Perrone
A graduate of the University of Maine at Orono, Ken has completed thirty seven seasons of coaching football and forty-seven seasons of coaching baseball in both Maine and Massachusetts schools. Entering the Spring of 2004, Perrone’s football and baseball teams have combined to win a total of 1,172 games, claim 45 championships, post six state titles, capture a New England crown and record six undefeated seasons. A former Maine All-State second baseman in 1957 and 1959, Perrone has been selected for Coach of the Year honors fourteen times combined for both football and baseball. He was inducted into the Massachusetts State High School Coaches Hall of Fame in 1992.
Coach Perrone combines baseball records of 476-253-4 at Salem State College, 229-49 at the high school level, 186-50 in American Legion, 11-2 in league play for the North American Women’s Baseball League and 16-3 in New England Lady Spirit Baseball (the traveling All-Star Team which represents the league in tournament play) for a total of 501 wins, 258 losses and 4 ties.
All told, Perrone has fashioned a combined grand total of 1,172 wins, 441 losses and 15 ties for an overall record, and coached in 1,628 games in his more than four decade football and baseball career.
Ron Marfione
The President and founder of Fusion LLC, Ron had the privilege of coaching in the inaugural season of the New England Women’s Professional Baseball League (now dubbed the New England Division of the North American Women’s Baseball League).
After playing baseball at Salem State College, Ron started his coaching career at Norwell High School in 1974, where he was part of the coaching staff that brought Norwell a State Championship in 1976. The past six seasons he has coached highly competitive Babe Ruth tournament teams in his hometown of Reading, MA. And, most recently, Ron served as an assitant coach of the USA Baseball Women's National Team who took home the gold at the first Women's World Cup of Baseball held in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada in August of 2004.
Marfione has been coaching for over 25 years.
Mike Morgan
A 3 sport athlete at Burlington High School, Mike just capped off his
colligiate career at Salem State under Ken Perrone. Mike was selected as
team MVP, Massachusetts State Athletic Conferance All Star, as well as
serving as team captain in the 2003-2004 season. In addition to coaching in
the NAWBL, Mike coaches Burlington's 15-16 year old Babe Ruth All Stars and
serves as a hitting instructor at Jim Curtin's Baseball school in
Burlington. Mike is currently a Sport Management & Coaching Major at Salem
State.
